Office on Harrogate

The Office on Harrogate is everything you want in an office. There’s great coffee on demand, beer on tap, and absolutely no pressure to get any work done. Plus, there’s the handy excuse that you're "at the office" when anyone calls to ask.

Its newest owners, Harris Donovan, Justin Naidu and Darryl Naidu, upgraded the cafe/small bar by adding artwork by local artists Tom Seabrooke and Ming Teh, introducing cold-pressed juice and putting cocktails on the breakfast menu.

The venue functions as a cafe by day, serving Loaded coffee from a shiny Synesso machine. It also does a killer cooked breakfast (the Office Stack: a potato rosti with spinach, bacon, a poached egg and hollandaise sauce is the most popular) and solid lunch options such as burgers, curries and gnocchi.

As West Leederville's only small bar, in the evenings locals descend for nibbles such as the house-made meatballs or the very shareable Harrogate St Platter, heaped with cured meat, cheese, pate and pickled octopus.

Along with a few local and Australian craft brews is a tidy wine list favouring organic and biodynamic producers. A handful of cocktails are also on offer, the best of which is the On Thyme Martini, made with The West Winds “Sabre” gin, vermouth, St Germain, blueberry and thyme bitters. If only every office had a water cooler filled with it.
