Named after the laneway behind the venue, Nogi Lane is a contemporary neighbourhood cafe by co-owners and perennial locals Callum Ellis and partner Tracy Ly.

The couple have beautified the former CoffeeMob space with pastel green splashbacks, timber slats and artwork from Perth artist Jack Bromell. But more than anything, they’ve created something for their inner-north community.

In the kitchen is chef Jason Nicholas, formerly of Vasse Felix and Hotel Rottnest. Although the menu features all the brunchtime favourites (granola, banana pancakes, chilli scrambled eggs), Nicholas channels his family’s Indian and Burmese heritage to reimagine some of the classics. For example, pulled beef is lifted with clove, cinnamon and other Indian spice, while the Hollandaise sauce in the eggs Benny is spiked with cardamom.

To drink, Five Senses pulls through the coffee machine, and there’s a short list of smoothies, cold-pressed juices and organic sodas.
