Features
While most of Northbridge slumbers within its graffiti-clad walls, Little Willys is already wide awake, serving Pound Coffee from the crack of dawn.
Located below the Paper Mountain Gallery and in the former Cafe Sport, the cafe opened in 2009 with a limited budget and space.
These constraints haven’t mattered. Its huge breakfast burritos cure any ailments brought on by the previous night, bursting with bacon, eggs, corn salsa and tomato chutney. Bacon and smoked salmon is replaced with mushroom and spinach for the vegetable lovers. Chef Kit Maddren makes almost everything on-site, except for the bread, sourced from Abhi’s Bread in South Fremantle.
Muffins, brownies and other baked goods ensure the pace remains steady from the start of the day to the end. If you miss out on a seat inside, under a footpath umbrella, or in the secret courtyard out back, head down William Street to Willys’ even tinier brother, Bookend Coffee Shop.
