Layup does brunch any way you like it. Everything from the pecan-crusted brioche, to the steak sandwich with smoked bacon and onion confit is baked or cooked in-house.
An energetic vibe radiates out of the open kitchen, which is surprisingly small for the variety of food on offer. The space has plenty of seating and a simple, stylish interior featuring concrete, wood and recycled brick.
There’s a pastry cabinet stocked with fancy doughnuts, banana bread and more. The selection of savouries includes plenty of interesting meat options, such as sage-and-tarragon crispy chicken with grilled stone-fruit salad. The menu is long and always evolving.
The drinks menu includes Blacklist coffee, loose-leaf teas, cold-pressed juices and smoothies which range from health-conscious (oat, blueberry, almond milk) to downright decadent (cookies and cream).
