Coffee grounds on the garden. Biodegradable packaging. Excess pulp turned into fruit bars. It’s clear: the sisters who run Jujuberry+Co care just as much about the earth’s health as they do about their customers’.

Deanna Banicek and Irena Kennedy opened their cafe and juice bar in 2016, intent on bringing organic and vegan fare to the suburbs.

Their menu satisfies on flavour and variety. You’ll see ingredients such as cashew cheese, crispy chickpeas, turmeric dressing and eggplant bacon. Healthy doesn’t mean boring here.

There’s also a cabinet filled with sugar-free treats, and specials such as curries and soups are available regularly. The nature of organic produce means the menu changes weekly, sometimes daily. It’s all sourced locally from certified growers.

Smoothies and cold-pressed juices are made fresh while you wait. For an extra kick, add a “wellness shot” such as turmeric tonic or apple-cider vinegar.

The coffee is from Pound Coffee Roasters. There’s also beetroot lattes for those who like it different. The sisters designed the interior themselves. There’s an easygoing vibe about the place; it’s fresh, bright and cosy. But if you can’t make it down, they’ll also deliver, provided you live or work close enough.
