Among Perth’s coffee bars, there’s few that offer the diversity of Felix & Co. Owners Mitch Smith and Nathan Ling have created a destination for those that value diversity of both origin and roaster.

On rotation you’ll find several guest seasonal blends each week, with three espresso offerings and two cold-brew offerings daily.

This would be enough for most baristas, but Smith takes it further with a V60 menu that offers seven choices weekly. He’s a man who takes his coffee seriously, tasting throughout the day to ensure consistent results in spite of humidity and temperature changes.

As Felix isn’t beholden to any one roaster, there are local offerings from Loaded just down the road, plus Mano a Mano, the in-house roastery at Gordon Street Garage. From the east, there’s the best of New South Wales with Artificer, Mecca Espresso, Sample and Single O. Victorian regulars include Proud Mary, Dukes, Small Batch, Seven Seeds, Code Black and Market Lane.

This all-encompassing approach is popular and the small shop has limited seating. When it’s busy there’s a wait time of around five minutes. But breathe easy: the queue out the door moves quickly.
