Features
Found Lab is a sprawling waterfront brewhouse that caters to most (whether you’re a beer fanatic or not). It’s by Will Irving, James Pedlow, Steve Finney, Natalie Moeahu-Pehi and Scott Player – whose collective resumes feature such names as Feral Brewing, Gage Roads, Little Creatures and Matso’s.
Found Lab’s roomy 200-seat space houses a bar, kitchen and a 600-litre bespoke two-vessel brewing tank. Its founders wanted to steer away from traditional masculine designs (think concrete, metal and timber). Instead, they opted for an inviting greenhouse aesthetic with hanging indoor plants and floor-to-ceiling windows that make the most of those lakeside views. The outdoor area is dog friendly, too.
The kitchen offers modern pub grub with a few global twists, with inspiration drawn from the team’s reconnaissance trip to the US. You might expect a French dip sandwich inspired by the famous version from Phillipe’s in LA.
