Dreamed up by the guys behind Geisha, LOFT and 399 Bar, The Spaniard is a welcome addition to Wolf Lane. After being inspired by a trip to Spain, the team began serving authentic Spanish food and drinks with the hospitality to match.

Housed in a renovated warehouse space, the venue has a neo-industrial feel to it. Add in soft lighting, wooden accents and a Spanish soundtrack, and it quickly starts to feel warm and vibrant.

A share-friendly tapas-style menu highlights food and drinks from all regions of Spain, striking a perfect balance between the straight-up traditional (chorizo and paella) and some decidedly more creative mod-Spanish dishes. With giant paella on the menu, there are also plenty of options to cater for larger functions and bigger groups.

Be aware that the Spaniard can be tough to find. Once you get in, though, you’ll be rewarded with warm service, a selection of Spanish wine, beers, cocktails and sangria, as well as some seriously good times. It’s sophisticated and unpretentious.
