Rodney’s Bait ‘n’ Tackle is like your uncle Rodney’s favourite yacht club. The walls are covered with ocean relics. Prized shark teeth, fishing nets and buoys crowd the cosy interior, and the middle of the room is taken up by a 10-metre wooden fishing boat called The Maevon.

The Maevon is no ordinary vessel. Apart from being completely landlocked, it has a fully functioning bar built into the hull, with enough rums and whiskies to keep any local pirate happy. For those after something bubbly, a set of beer taps is built into the starboard and offers brews from Perth Draught, Naked Apple and Throwback Brewery.

Owners Scott Kociuruba and Nathan Nisbet spent two years trawling shipyards and verges to style the interior. From a salvaged jetty, which forms an outdoor table, to an antique map collection, the décor inside Rodney’s will keep you entertained.

Hungry beachcombers can choose from a small assortment of cold-meat platters, cheeses and bar snacks. On weekends, Kociuruba and Nisbet invite blues, jazz and world-music artists onto the stage.
