399 welcomes all. There is no dress code, which creates what owner Peter Palmer describes as a “multicultural fashion mishmash” at this edgy but hospitable bar.

The venue is one of Perth’s original small bars and specialises in cocktails as you please, be it an Espresso Martini or a Whisky Sour. It also has more than 30 international beers available. This is a place that strives to offer you less obvious beverages and trip up your palate with something unusual.

While the kitchen offers tapas dishes (cheeses, dumplings, chorizo, sweet-potato chips), you can order from 399’s friendly neighbours. Thanks to tie-ins with those in the local area, Vietnamese, Thai, Indian and pizzas can all be delivered straight to your seat at the bar or in one of the cosy booths.

Themed nights bring out the crowds, but day-to-day the playlist centres on whatever the crowd’s vibe is, with music matching the mood. You’ll find a mix of jazz, classics, rock, reggae and easy-listening. This versatility makes it a popular destination for functions. The private courtyard is a hit as well.
