Set off on a lantern tour of this eerie Tassie destination during the Off Season.

Sarah Island was not always a destination you wanted to visit. It was once a notorious penal settlement in Tasmania that saw convicts labouring under some of the harshest conditions in the forest, established in the remote reaches of the Macquarie Harbour in 1821. Today, the ruins of the site give visitors a look into convict life of the era juxtaposed with the beauty of the surrounding wilderness.

In the cooler months of Tasmania’s Off Season, it makes for an ideal place to visit. Date for 2024 are yet to be announcment but you can expect to join the crew from The Ship That Never Was for a night-time lantern tour of Sarah Island. For one night only, keep the shivers at bay with a balance of ghostly tales of fear, dread and darkness with the best in local wine, beer, whisky, gin and hot food.

For $200 per person, you’ll get access to Sarah Island onboard the Harbour Master II, as well as a hot food feast, drinks, a beanie and of course the guided lantern tour of the island. There’s also a cash bar available to purchase drinks from throughout the cruise.

Tickets are limited and with dates to be confirmed. [See more info and book your ticket]
