Gusto’s modern European fare and prime position on Gympie Terrace has made it a hit with Noosa locals for more than 20 years. These days it’s better than ever, after a complete revamp by owners Tim Lepoutre and Chloe Dunlop, who took over in 2020 and are a near-constant presence on the dining-room floor.
As ever, local seafood is front and centre – the Mooloolaba-prawn-and-garlic ravioli is a menu mainstay for a reason (after a brief hiatus it was reinstated by popular demand) – but otherwise there’s a strong case for proteins such as the pan-seared goldband snapper and grilled Brisbane Valley quail. Bookend proceedings with Moreton Bay bug sliders and the signature lemon tart with smoked crème fraîche.
The wine list goes all out with more than 40 Australian and European drops available by the glass – including dessert wines. Gusto also does free BYO on Thursdays, a bottomless-wine lunch on Saturdays, and regular wine-and-dine events throughout the year.
The marble-topped bar, navy accents, and open brass bar shelves make Gusto’s dining room feel fancy enough for a big occasion. But really it’s all about the bustling outdoor terrace, which is primed for people-watching as well as riverside sips.
