Features
The name is no red herring – cool neighbourhood cafe Moto once shared its Noosa Junction address with a scooter shop. But the industrial vibe has stuck, with huge communal tables made from recycled cable spools, and a shipping container housing the bar and coffee station.
The menu is as laid-back as you like, with a freewheeling approach to brunch. Expect staples such as house-made muesli and jazzed-up avocado on toast, plus house heroes such as Turkish eggs with herb-and-garlic yoghurt and smoked chilli butter. A tight list of burritos has all pre-midday cravings covered. If you’re chasing something sweet, the muffins (strawberry, Oreo and more) usually don’t last long.
Because the main game here is brunch, this place takes its coffee seriously. The house blend is supplied by local roasters Clandestino, with beans sourced from Sumatra, Indonesia.
Moto also does a quality evening trade from Thursday to Sunday, featuring a rotating line-up of guest chefs. Indonesian nights are always a hit, but you can also expect pizza, ramen and food-truck affairs. Plus there’s music from local musicians and DJs, and well-made cocktails and beer from indie Sunshine Coast breweries pouring on tap.
