Whether you’re a local reminiscing about your UK OE, a homesick British expat or just a fan of a well-pulled pint, this English-style pub has long been a welcoming fixture in Eden Terrace.

Galbraith’s is a rain-or-shine kind of spot; in winter, it’s cosy with wood-heavy interiors, carpeted floors and a roaring fire to sip beside. When the sun’s out, head to the beer garden out the back to be surrounded by greenery and open skies.

Keith Galbraith opened his pub’s doors in 1995. He’s passionate about brewing, and there’s an on-site brewery where he and head brewer David O’Leary make old-world beer styles with traditional techniques. You can drink these on tap; there is also an unpretentious wine list.

The menu centres on alehouse classics with quality ingredients, such as bangers and mash with homemade Cumberlands, and fish’n’chips battered with house-made hazy ale.

It’s always a popular spot – but especially on Sundays, when they do a traditional roast.
