The Blue Door is a worthy destination for a nightcap, whether you’ve just eaten at Aosta or Little Aosta (just across the lane from the latter), or you’re making the trip especially for one of the live music nights.
Marked by – what else? – a blue door, enter the historical stone building to discover a dimly lit den. An open fire blazes in the corner and a DJ spins tunes if there’s no live act playing.
The cocktail list packs a punch, particularly excelling when it comes to whisky. Retire to a leather armchair with an Old Fashioned or hit the cosy dance floor and go out in style.
The bar only holds about 30 people, but the party often spills out onto the laneway. Enjoy Arrowtown’s best nightlife and hope you don’t have an early flight the next morning.
