Features
Find Candela’s younger sibling via a stroll through the eatery’s bustling dining room and out the back. With both an indoor bar space and sheltered balcony, you can order a pared-back, more snacky version of Candela’s Iberian tapas – slices of jamon with artichoke heart; grilled flatbreads with sobrassada butter; house-pickled mussels with cucumber and saffron; and patatas bravas.
The drinks list centres on house cocktails such as Sangria with infused cognac, cabernet merlot and spices, and the Honest Work – botanical rum and burnt pineapple with a coconut milk wash. There's also a small, rotating selection of local and international wines, beers and spirits.
It’s a perfect spot for a late-night beverage or low-key hideout – and the balcony delivers city views for after-work drinks or a warm weather sit-down. Experienced Auckland DJ and radio host DJ Hudge has created a custom soundtrack to complement the Barcita vibe.
As the space is available for private hire, its opening hours vary week-to-week – keep an eye on Barcita's social media for the changing schedule.
