You might have noticed the rise in Instagram posts by people travelling to South Korea. And if you’re anything like us, you’re jealous. Luckily, we’re giving you the chance to win a trip with flights, accommodation and some meals included. You just need to pick which of your friends gets to come with you.

The trip begins with a flight with Korean carrier T’way Air out of Sydney Airport to Incheon International Airport, where you hop on a train to reach your hotel. The way you structure your itinerary is up to you, but you’ll have accommodation in L7 Hongdae, L7 Myeongdong and L7 Haeundae.

We recommend you start in Hongdae, known for its art and music scene and a great place to base yourself to explore Seoul. We suggest spending three to four days here, which is plenty of time to acquaint yourself with Hongik University Street and surrounds. You could also split the time between Hongdae and Myeong-dong, another bustling shopping centre, about a 30-minute drive from Hongdae.

For a change in pace, spend the last few days of your trip in Busan, a two-and-a-half-hour high speed train journey from Seoul. It’s on the water and is a different scene to the shopping in Hongdae and Myeong-dong. Expect temples, beaches and mountains, some of which you can hike. The bustling city combines modern life with tradition and the rich history of South Korea. As the second-largest city in the country, it’s well worth adding to your itinerary.

We’re also throwing in a $400 dining voucher for Born & Bred, a luxe steakhouse with outposts in Incheon and Busan. Owner Jung Sang-won grew up around his father’s butchery at Seoul’s Majang Meat Market, and his refined approach has earned this spot a Michelin star.

In need of more inspiration? We’ve also rounded up the top cultural experiences and the best places to eat around the country.
