Small Luxury Hotels of the World Adds 29 New Boutique Hotels to Its Stable

It’s the autumn itch. The glow of summer is slowly slipping away. There’s a nip in the air in the AM. And – for most of the country – daylight saving has ended and streetlights are switching on depressingly early.
What does that mean? It’s time to start planning a getaway.
On April 27 in London, boutique accommodation collective Small Luxury Hotels of the World announced 29 new member properties had joined the portfolio. The new additions bring the stable to over 700 properties across 100 countries, including local properties Chalets at Blackheath, Le Mas in the Barossa, Lon Retreat, Smiths Beach Resort in WA, and more.
The 29 new openings include soon-to-open hotels such as The Grace Hotel in Ireland’s County Mayo, which will open on a 430-acre estate later this year. Casa Caprile in Anacapri (the quieter side of the fashionable Italian isle of Capri) will open with just 12 rooms and suites. Casa Simona will open later this year in an extinct Panamanian volcano crater.
Whatever adventure turns your head, there’s a new stay that’ll answer the call. Keen for a city stay? Hotel Bowmann in Paris’s 8th arrondissement provides lush Haussmannian glamour. Want to get off the grid? The Historia Nile Cruise is more of a floating hotel than a standard cruise ship with just 44 rooms and two restaurants. Focusing on wellness? Rhino and River Wildlife Retreat in Assam, India, offers accommodation in 16 log-hut rooms as well as a lush spa drawing on Khasi healing traditions. Want to holiday without seeing another soul? The Telunas Private Island in Indonesia’s Riau Islands (not far from Singapore) offers tropical beauty and plenty of luxury.
Below – in alphabetical order – are the new additions to the Small Luxury Hotels of the World portfolio.
• Rhino and River Wildlife Retreat & Spa, Morigaon, Assam, India
• The Grace, Westport Estate, Westport, County Mayo, Ireland
