Every seasoned traveller knows Samsonite. And for good reason: one Broadsheet editor has been rolling theirs through airports for 15 years (and counting).
The suitcase leader’s new collection pays homage to one of its most distinctive designs with the launch of Streamlite – a modern reimagination of its 1940s range.
“The new Streamlite is a testament to how design can evolve without losing its soul,” says Henry Yang in a statement, the brand’s head of design. Combining classic style with contemporary materials, it’s one of the label’s most durable and practical collections yet.
Choose from the Spinner 55 and Spinner 75: two suitcase sizes available in admiral blue. Each comes with a set of packing cubes, a luggage cover and a paisley-patterned luggage tag. And if you’re looking to complete the set, a matching briefcase in the same luxe colourway drops at the end of March.
True to its vintage inspiration, the case’s exterior features lithographed paper for a leather-like finish, while a TSA-approved lock and one-touch control panels offer a modern update. Inside, a satin-lined interior includes multiple compartments for streamlined packing, while Samsonite’s signature suspension wheels promise smooth, near-silent transport.
To mark 115 years in business, Samsonite is releasing just 2025 pieces of the new Streamlite collection globally – only 75 of which will be available in Australia. Each is uniquely numbered and monogrammed, with further customisation options available.
Alongside Streamlite, Samsonite is also launching its latest Evoa Z in a limited edition retro blue, featuring vintage-inspired prints inside and out in a nod to the brand’s long history.
