Set on more than 200 acres of rural farmland in Point Lonsdale, Victoria, is Lon Retreat, a new luxury hotel and spa due to open in October.

The sandstone retreat, formerly Lonsdale Views, has been completely transformed into seven opulent suites and a mineral spa.

Rooms are inspired by the bush, ocean and farmland nearby, decked out in earthy tones of charcoal, emerald, ivory and grey, with natural stone and timber finishes. Each suite has been given a unique look and feel, some with private courtyard gardens, others with balconies that offer panoramic views of the ocean.

In the in-room honesty bar you’ll find Leura Park Estate wines, spirits from Bellarine Distillery, cider from Flying Brick, and snacks from nearby Annie’s Kitchen and The Food Purveyor.

Lon Spa will have three treatment rooms, a sauna, a heated mineral pool (water is from springs that run under the farm), a sunroom and more spectacular views of the surrounding landscape. Spa treatments including facials and massages will start at $160.

There’s also private beach access, a nature reserve, and an art gallery showcasing local works.

Lon is set to open on Friday, October 5. Rooms start at $360 per night, twin share, and include access to the mineral pool and a breakfast hamper.
