The Calile Hotel Empire Is Officially Growing With a Second Site in Noosa Confirmed

The Malouf family, founders of Brisbane’s The Calile Hotel, has received council approval for a second hotel in Noosa Heads.
The family’s James Street site has received no shortage of international acclaim. In the inaugural World’s 50 Best Hotels list, The Calile was named the 12th best hotel in the world and it retained its Best in Oceania title at this year’s awards ceremony. It’s also become a go-to for celebrities like Nigella Lawson and Kourtney Kardashian Barker.
Despite international acclaim, the Maloufs are thinking local when it comes to their first expansion.
“Resort sites are often at risk of being ceded to multinational hotel companies who impose incongruous designs and standards upon the local community,” said co-owner Michael Malouf. “By contrast, The Calile is a homegrown South East Queensland brand with an implicit understanding of the local culture, climate, community, demographic and attributes.”
Design firm Richards & Spence, which was responsible for the coastal chic, Miami Vice -design of the Fortitude Valley hotel, is on board to design the new site. It will include 153 rooms, 29 suites and four villas. Rooms start at 45 square metres and there will be three-bedroom villas for families or larger groups.
The venue will feature two pools: a 50-metre swimming pool and a second, quiet pool in a garden setting. Fittingly, for Noosa, there will also be a comprehensive wellness site similar to peach-hued spa Kailo at their James Street hotel.
Work on the 2.4-hectare site will commence in early 2025, with building projected to take three years.
The Calile Noosa is expected to open at 3-7 Serenity Close, Noosa Heads in 2028.
