Club culture – it means a lot of different things in 2025, and in this issue, we explore the spectrum.

Our cover story, Peak Time All the Time, dives into the state of Australian nightclubs – the good, the bad and the stream-y. We meet the founders of Lines, an Aussie startup that’s changed the way people club in this country, and which just launched in London.

We also talk to DJs, stylists and other dancefloor regulars about contemporary club fashion, and book club hosts and literary curators share their picks of the books you must-read this summer.

Finally, across Australia, a new kind of old-school club culture is taking shape: people are joining cooking circles, film societies, chess nights, birdwatching groups. These clubs throw traditional notions of club exclusivity out the window: less velvet rope, more shared interest. And anyone’s welcome.

Whatever your version of club culture, one thing’s clear: it’s still about showing up and cementing connection.
