Alex and Trahanas Apulian Wine Cooler, $145 ·

Luxurious linen bedding, a ceramic wine cooler from Italy’s east coast and gorgeous photography for our walls. Welcome to this month’s collection of things we don’t strictly need, but most definitely want.

Alex and Trahanas Apulian wine cooler
Plastic and stainless steel buckets are fine, but we’re much more into
this hand-painted, one-of-a-kind ceramic from Apulia (Puglia) on Italy’s balmy east coast. The region’s azure waters and whitewashed coastal towns are the main source of inspiration for Sydney-based fashion and lifestyle label Alex and Trahanas. We can see why. With a bottle of prosecco or something else fun inside it, this cooler is sure to liven up your aperitivo this summer. $145 / alexandtrahanas.com

Broadsheet Editions
Abstract close-ups of food. Sun-kissed rockpools on the Italian coast. The moment Australia said “Yes” to marriage equality. These are just a few of the shots ready to improve the empty walls in your home or office. At Broadsheet we work with some of Australia’s top photographers, both established and emerging. Now we’re delivering their best work to you, framed with gallery-grade materials. Gift cards also available. From $220 / shop.broadsheet.com.au

Milou Milou flax linen bedding
Regardless of your air-conditioning situation, your bedroom could probably use from some cooling flax linen this summer. Uniquely, the new label lets customers mix and match pillowcases, flat sheets, fitted sheets and doona covers to create their own collection. There are 26 shades to work with, including rich chocolate brown, pale matcha green and sky blue. From $105 / miloumilou.com

St Agni x Velvet Canyon eyewear
The Poet. The name (and movie-star design) of these specs doesn’t really jive with our image of a cigarette-smoking, black-turtleneck-wearing beatnik pecking away at a typewriter some time past midnight. Never mind. What’s important is that the ’50s-inspired frames look good (they do) and the lenses block 99 per cent of UV rays (they do). The collaboration produced three colourways (plain black, blonde tort and marble), all made from high-quality acetate. $270 / st-agni.com

Sunday Supply Co beach chairs
Byron Bay label Sunday Supply Co bobbed up in 2016, with a natty range of tasselled beach umbrellas. These new matching chairs come in 12 colourways, including stripes, floral prints and solid block colours. Like all beach chairs, this one will keep your tush at a comfortable distance from the sand all day long. That’s good – we’re not huge fans of sand down there. At the day’s end, the lightweight aluminium frame folds up in a snap, and the sturdy shoulder strap will ease your trip back to the car. $129 / sundaysupply.co
