Eclectic Melbourne-based furniture and homewares retailer Fenton & Fenton has gone into liquidation.
The company’s website is now host to a single page, which reads: “Fenton & Fenton Pty Ltd (In Liquidation) is now in Liquidation with Adam Nikitins and Stewart McCallum of EY appointed liquidators.”
Fenton & Fenton, founded in 2008 by Lucy Fenton, carried a product line that included furniture, linen, rugs, fashion, artwork, jewellery and taxidermy – with a large contingent of wares from Australian makers and artists.
The retailer launched with a Prahran shopfront and quickly grew its ecomm presence before opening a second shop in Collingwood in 2019.
A hefty social media following included 353,000 followers on Instagram, where the label was still posting content as recently as Monday.
The company has yet to release an official statement. For now, customers with outstanding orders and store credit are being directed to a liquidation hotline via the company’s website.
