This Collab From McMullin & Co and Assembly Label Is Turning Us On

Two Sydney minimalist favourites have teamed up to create the ultimate autumnal homewares purchase. Assembly Label and McMullin & Co have each applied their signature pared-back ethos to a Japandi-inspired rice-paper lamp.

“Drawing from both Japanese minimalism and Scandinavian functionality, we sought to create a piece that embodies simplicity, tranquillity and functionality,” McMullin & Co’s founder and creative director Alice McMullin told Broadsheet via email. “The clean lines, soft glow and use of natural materials like rice paper and steel-wire framing reflect the essence of Japandi style, while also illustrating our commitment to slow and seasonless design principles.”

Measuring 35 centimetres at its widest point and 15 centimetres high, the table lamp would make the perfect addition to a bedside table, a bookshelf or any other nook that benefits from ambient lighting. Those who avoid the “big light” will appreciate its softly diffused glow.

The limited-edition design is available for pre-order from today on both brands’ websites. It will be available to purchase in-store at the retailers from early May.
