Croissant-Themed Tableware, Gentle Habits’ New Incense, and More Homewares We’re Eyeing in April

Autumn is here, and in true form, the forecast can’t quite make up its mind. The warm days are numbered though, and there’s nothing like the first burst of rain to send our editors straight to the homewares tab.
Wet weather calls for cosy and textiles deliver this month, with plush updates across towels, throws and bedding – from local favourites like Bed Threads to cult names like Tekla. Call it a pre-hibernation haul.
But we’re not saying goodbye to aperitivo hour at sunset just yet. Vintage bar carts serve Sicilian bitter aperitifs, whimsical cocktail picks jazz up Martini night, and Henry Wilson’s cloudy glassware was made for guzzling both.
So, whether you’re leaning into winter prep or holding onto summer nights, this is everything we’re shopping to ease the transition.

I’m moving house soon, so naturally my camera roll is overflowing with screenshots of dreamy homewares. Top of the list is Gessen’s translucent dinner plates that’ll even make a weeknight dinner feel special. Henry Wilson’s Fog glasses follow the same logic: as compelling on a shelf as they are in hand. And when friends come over, I’ll pull it altogether with Corey Ashford’s Croissant napkin rings.
Hosting, of course, means cleaning up and I’ve somehow convinced myself that Gohar World’s silver crumb catcher and a Florian Home tea towel are part of the equation – practical, yet stylish enough to leave out.
Beyond the kitchen, I’m thinking about atmosphere. A signature scent is high on the list, and Loewe’s Tomato Leaves room spray fits the brief. And as the weather cools, I can already picture a Tekla lambswool blanket draped over the couch – the kind you reach for without thinking.

Microplastics have infiltrated my algorithm. I’ve already ditched the toxic pans and storage containers, but after learning how much we’re eating through tap water, a filter feels non-negotiable. Yes, a Brita would do, but Kyn and Folk’s ceramic design is one I’m really lusting after. With clean H2O in abundance, I plan to sip straight from Suku’s funky mug – and at night, brewed with Idyll’s sleep tea. Delish.
Also on my Instagram feed: sculptural homewares – specifically those with hand-carved shapes. This mid-century lampshade with scalloped edges is serving gothic maximalism, and I love it. Oros’s egg cups and pepper mills form big swirls in wood, and this vintage set of spiralled salad servers would sit perfectly alongside them. My design heart wants it all.

First things first, I’m in desperate need of a shoe cabinet. I’ve lived in my current apartment for over a year now, and still have the terrible system of just chucking my shoes by the front door. It’s as messy as it sounds. This Mocka one will do the job.
I’ve already ticked off one of my wishlist items this month – a Fleur Studios side table. This gorgeous stainless-steel piece is the perfect contrast to the cosiness of my home. Speaking of, I’m in a very old art deco apartment and it’s already getting cold. To warm the place up (not in temperature, but with vibes), I’ve been lighting Maho’s artisan leather incense sticks (a present from Broadsheet’s Christmas party) and want to get my hands on some more.
I’m determined to get back into baking and blame my idleness on the fact I don’t own a hand or stand mixer. I’m considering biting the bullet on this Kitchenaid. And after doing some shopping for a friend’s birthday, I’m now eyeing off one of Sage and Clare’s resin bowls for myself. That’s what friendship is all about, right?

I’ve long been a queen of clutter, but the chaotic reign is finally coming to an end. I’m slowly reimagining my space with a tiny, imaginary Marie Kondo perched on my shoulder. First, I’m targeting the foundations. I’ve got my eye on Yona’s new Scandi-style bed base, which is made with recycled cardboard with a gridlock design that keeps it sturdy. To re-home the chaos currently living under my bed, I’m dreaming about Ineshi’s sleek walnut dresser. Hem’s powder-coated steel side table is both beautiful and practical for holding night-time essentials, including my current read: Maria van Neerven’s debut poetry collection, Two Tongues.
For storage around my room, I’m grabbing the Raf Simon magazine strap (a steal at 75 per cent off right now) and – because old habits die hard – a few stylish laundry baskets to toss all my clothes into, whether they need a wash or not.

It suddenly feels like winter, and I want my home to feel cosy. This month, it’s all about textiles. I’m placing an order for new Tekla towels – as a twice-daily shower person, it feels worth the splurge (one brown, one green). I’m also eyeing Tekla’s navy fringe blanket. It’s not cheap, but a good throw is a forever purchase (I know this because I’m still using an ugly blanket I bought seven years ago).
New bedding is also on the agenda. After years of mix-and-match linen, I’m returning to an all-white set-up – and I’m eyeing Bed Threads’ organic cotton line. It hits that sweet spot of slightly silky, slightly crisp. To pull it all together, I’ve just picked up Fazeek’s cedarwood and saffron incense cones to set the mood.

It’s high time I retire my phone as an alarm clock. Too many mornings are lost to doomscrolling rabbit holes that shouldn’t occur before sunrise. I’m eyeing this sleek Kreafunk clock – it doubles as a Bluetooth speaker. That said, I just got a plush hazelnut-toned quilt from Hommey’s new Scandi collection, so getting out of bed isn’t exactly getting easier.
Lately, I’ve had my mind on Francesca Kanat’s moody, muted oil paintings. There’s a quiet stillness to her work I keep coming back to – the kind you want to live with. One day.
Elsewhere, I’ve been fixated on the small upgrades that make a home feel considered. I’m swapping the neon sponges and tired microfibre cloths for hemp scourers and bamboo dishcloths from Designstuff. In the bathroom, Saarde’s new chickpea towel colourway is a simple but considered touch.
And as a newly christened Martini drinker, Gohar World’s handmade, silver-plated cocktail picks are on my wishlist – because c’est chic.

I love rotating incense based on the season, and Gentle Habits’ latest release has me hooked – the smoky woods and deep leather feel very apt for the colder months ahead.
My Grumpi chair just arrived and it’s living up to the hype – it comes compressed and expands into shape on its own, which is so satisfying to unbox. To make the lounging even cosier, I’m eyeing a pyjama set from Sheet Society’s label, Resting. There’s something about a matching set that makes doing nothing feel considered.
I never thought I’d be excited about kitchen utensils – until The Assorted Bunch. The Aussie newcomer does colour-coordinated sets housed in a sculptural ceramic holder that’s too nice to hide in a drawer. To round out a prep tool refresh, Wusthof’s new rosemary-hued collection makes a worthy switch for my criminally blunt knives.

With the mercury dropping, my April mood is shifting firmly indoors. If I’m hitting snooze until the very last second, it may as well be on silk. These Yumi pillowcases feel delicate and closer to a vintage heirloom than standard bedding. Meanwhile, few things signal “I’ve got my life together” like a matching towel set, and nobody does a stripe quite like Tekla. This cornflower blue set brings a hint of hotel luxury to my rental bathroom. The Ninja Luxe Cafe Premier is also a serious addition to my kitchen bench. It handles everything from cold brew to silky microfoam, making it easier to skip the walk to my local on wet and wild Melbourne days.
I recently scored a 1970s-style chrome bar cart on the side of the road (the hard-rubbish gods are looking after me), and now comes the fun part: styling it. Leaning into a retro Italian mood, I’ve got my eye on a striped Murano glass vase from La Double J to sit alongside a bottle of Cos Naturale Bitter. It’s handcrafted in Sicily and, frankly, the label is as much of a drawcard as what’s inside.

I want to make my boring bathroom feel like a spa. I recently stayed at Lake House in Daylesford and they put bath salts in Dinosaur Designs pebble jars – so simple, but it felt so luxe that I must recreate it at home. Fluffy white towels from Sheet Society and a peony and blush suede candle from Jo Malone are very much part of the plan. And these Subu x Sandy Liang princess slippers will really complete the vibe.
