As mornings start to feel noticeably chillier, staying cocooned in cosy sheets is all the more appealing. I’d like to stay wrapped up in this burgundy flannelette quilt from Sheet Society for as long as possible. And when I finally do get out of bed, Hommey’s plush robe can keep me cushy instead. Autumn also calls for nights in with friends, ideally with a glass of vino (or chai depending on the mood), blankets, board games and a candle burning in the background. My picks: these handmade Florian Home wineglasses, Maison Balzac’s new woody scent, a Country Road throw and Monopoly Deal, of course.

I’ve been eyeing the lotus plates from Australian ceramicist Georgina Yen Qin Lee’s Dynastic collection. I especially love the pandan green and peony pink, but you can mix and match colours and they all go together. I’m co-authoring a baking book so I might need to bite the bullet and get my own Kitchenaid stand mixer. When I was younger, I wanted the candy red one like Martha Stewart had on her show, but now I prefer the subtler hues, especially the contour silver. A recent visit to Georgia O’Keeffe’s Abiquiu Home made me want to fill my space with Marimekko linens. And I truly believe nothing beats a good quality Le Creuset pepper mill. I had one that has since been lost to past roommates and it still kills me.

I am still, somehow, without a Gozney pizza oven. But the brand’s new Tread spin-off doesn’t just look like a more portable, rugged version of the original oven that sent budding pizzaiolos like me into a tizzy. It just looks cooler. For that reason alone, it’s the one I’d splurge on. Otherwise, I’m lusting after a casserole from La Creuset and Breville’s Dual Boiler espresso machine and because then I’d have all pillars of my diet covered: pizza, bolognaise and espresso.

I think my life would be improved if there were more linen in it. So, when I think about how I might invest in my home, my first thought is to step up my bed sheets. I lust after Bed Threads and I’d love a bundle. And while we’re on the linen train, I’m obsessed with the Petit Four Tablecloth from Maison Balzac, which I would love to pair with the brand’s Bisous cocktail napkins. I live in an inner-city apartment, so I’m constantly on the hunt for storage solutions that are both pretty and practical. I’ve had my eye on both The Ledge and The Midi from Mustard Made. I’m also desperately trying to hide a large rip in my living room carpet, so I’ve been looking at carpets from Ruggable. I’m currently tossing up between two tufted numbers: this Justina Blakeney number and this sunny design from Matthew Williamson.

My partner and I recently moved into a new rental apartment and I’ve been giving in to my nesting urges. I’m looking to up my hosting skills, so I’m eyeing these resin salad servers from Saarde. To set the ambience, I’m intrigued by Fazeek’s new interior sprays (its cedarwood and saffron sounds delightful for the colder weather). Speaking of the impending cooler months ahead, I like the look of T2’s Ombre Brights teapot in green.

Warm ambient lighting is the cosy answer to autumn nights – and my Flos Bellhop lamp has been glowing steadily since the weather began to cool. As hibernation mode sets in, I’m making small shifts throughout the house. This sculptural mirror by McMullin nods to the chrome interiors trend and feels like a match for my living space. Sheet Society’s plush red towelling brings a hit of colour to my otherwise monochrome bathroom, and I’m topping up Leif’s refillable hand soap while I’m at it. Over in the kitchen, I’m getting practical and finally putting an end to soggy salad, thanks to a spinning colander by Danish label Eva Solo. That’s me sorted.

I’m fragrance-obsessed, and a room never feels complete without an all-encompassing scent to fill the space. Fazeek’s latest edit of fragrance oils come in three moody scents – the cedarwood and saffron blend gets my pick for its soft, mood-enhancing finish. To make it last, I’ll be pairing it with the brand’s Wave stone. And adding to the cosy, comforting atmosphere I’m aiming for in my bedroom, I’m eyeing Hommey’s latest collection, Versa. There are six reversible pinstripe quilt covers to flip the look of my space, whenever the mood shifts, and I’m deciding between the vanilla/mahogany and mulberry/aster colourways. Finally, this winter, I’ll be sipping copious amounts of tea from the Milk mugs by Florian Home – perfect to keep within reach on my bedside table. Winter oasis complete.

I just hit go on this deep brown dream of a rug from Ruggable, and it’s resulted in a dream-bedroom wish list. I want the vibe to lean ’70s (and I’ll cut the curtain bangs to match ASAP). The bed will be dressed in caramel-striped sheets (from Cultiver, obviously) and I Love Linen’s steely blue linen doona cover. And the big-blue vibes will keep flowing with Maison Balzac’s new pom-pom-studded vase, ready for sunny bright-yellow blooms. Rebecca Hein’s Green Ocean – in a maxo-size from The Poster Club – for the wall behind the bed. A good night’s sleep guaranteed.
