After launching late last year, the Australian brand is back with a bold new collection for mess-loving spaces – in the living room, under a dining table or running along your front hall.

Double launched at the end of 2022 with Australia’s first line of machine-washable rugs. Now it’s delivering a bold new range to shake things up.

“Checks and stripes have the ability to tie a space together, making it feel fresh and connected in a way that's both palatable and bold,” Double’s creative advisor, Michael Carter, says. “The palette we curated definitely feels connected to natural materials like timber and stone.”

The checks and stripes collection is brimming with graphic appeal. There’s the black-striped Direction and olive-checked Lucid designs in jute, as well as soft chenille styles, like the abstract, beige Win and an elegant brown option called Plinth.

And while a lot of the pieces play into monochrome and neutral palettes, there are more vibrant options, too. “We captured the High Multi rug in Indigenous Australian artist Tiarna Herczeg ’s studio. It’s such a bold and energetic rug that’s by far the most playful in the collection,” Carter says.

Each rug comes with the brand’s signature two-layer technology: your desired design on top and a cushioning non-slip base (with a similar feel to a yoga mat) underneath. If you already own a rug from Double, you can buy a new top layer separate to the base and switch up your interiors with ease (and a lower price tag).

The geometric additions to the range have the same simple care instructions. Throw the top layer into the washing machine on a cold, delicate cycle, using a mild detergent to get those hard stains out. Hang or tumble-dry the top, then reconnect it with the base for fresh floor decor.
