Corey Ashford’s Latest Collection Is Made for Martini Hour

Melbourne designer Corey Ashford’s latest collection, L’aperitif, flips the script. After years of turning food into handmade inedible objects – oyster-shaped incense holders , canelé-inspired jewellery dishes , marble madeleine boxes – he’s now making objects for food. Chic stainless steel cocktail picks finished in silver and gold, hand-blown Martini glasses and delicate horn caviar spoons for an evening aperitivo.
“In many ways, the aperitif is that perfect pause before the evening begins,” says Ashford, the former head of retail and visual merchandising at Dinosaur Designs, who established his namesake studio in 2016. “It’s that sweet spot after setting the table and welcoming your guests, where you can slow down and enjoy something decadent – a bump of caviar, a plump olive with a curl of anchovy or a dirty gin Martini.”
Designed for a Martini, Gimlet or Manhattan, the glasses come in a set of two, as do the generously sized Tide caviar spoons. A set of four picks , each complete with a faux olive, lets you slide on as many of the real deal as you wish.
The new product drop also reimagines Ashford’s signature brass oyster incense holder as a keyring , in gold and silver finishes. There’s also a glitzy, woven champagne bottle bag – great for gifting or bringing bubbles to the party in style.
