The Oracle Jet mimics a professional barista, offering 10 preset recipes for your favourite drinks and eight microfoam texture levels for any type of milk (or mylk).

Coffee machines are a polarising subject. Anyone with a small kitchen knows just how precious bench space is. But with cozzie livs continuing to creep up on most of us, a morning brew at your local coffee shop is probably starting to add up.

If you’re thinking about committing to at-home barista duties, Breville’s new Oracle Jet is worth a look in.

A fully integrated Baratza precision burr grinder automatically grinds, doses and tamps your beans – there are 45 grind settings to suit your needs. And the 58-millimetre stainless steel portafilter holds a 22-gram dose.

The Auto MilQ technology allows for hands-free microfoam making and includes an adjustable temperature range of 40 to 75 degrees Celsius, as well as delivering eight texture levels. Pre-programmed settings are optimised for dairy, soy, almond and oat milks.

The 12-centimetre touch-screen has both light and dark modes – a saviour for sleepy morning eyes or late-night caffeine fiends. Preset recipe functions include flat white, latte, cappuccino, espresso, long black, babyccino, hot chocolate, tea, cold brew and cold espresso. There’s also an auto queue function that initiates espresso extraction and milk steaming.

The machine comes in three finishes: brushed stainless steel, Black Truffle and Sea Salt.
