Getting out of a warm shower is tough, but having a plush towel or bath mat waiting makes the transition a little easier.

That’s the idea behind the new bathroom range from Bed Threads, which expands the Sydney brand’s homewares universe beyond bedding. The collection includes terry towels, bath sheets and mats, designed to complement the curated palette of its recently launched organic cotton sheets.

“Towels are deceptively technical,” says co-founder Genevieve Rosen-Biller of the year-long testing process. “Getting all the small details right – the weight, density [and] loop construction – can dramatically change how the final product feels. We didn’t want to release something until it met the same standards as our bedding.”

Crafted from 100 per cent ring-spun cotton and woven at 650 GSM, the towels are durable and resist fraying and thinning. “They’re prewashed for softness and become more absorbent and better over time,” Rosen-Biller says.

Colours mirror the bedding line, with tonal combinations designed to mix or match. “We see people go tonal, like apple with moss, or bold with berry and espresso,” says Rosen-Biller. Her own pick is between the latter pair, which she says transform her “classic millennial grey bathroom” into a more energised space.

The launch follows Bed Threads’ first foray into bathroom products – a waffle-weave linen towel collection, which Rosen-Biller says is being reworked for those who prefer lightweight, fast-drying options.

But for this release, cotton was the focus. “We wanted to launch a complementary cotton towelling range to our new organic cotton bedding,” she says. “It’s nice for people to feel like they’re buying into a universe – and have the Bed Threads experience in every room of their home.”

Hand towels start at $25, bath towels and mats are $50, and oversized bath sheets are $80. The range is available now via the Bed Threads website.
