The newest entrant to Victoria’s hotel scene is a chic ode to mid-century Melbourne.
Embracing the site of the beloved Metro Theatre and its rich history as a hotel, cinema and live performance venue, the new Le Meridien Melbourne hotel at the top end of Bourke Street features 235 rooms across 12 storeys, an LA-worthy rooftop pool and a clutch of dining spaces that include the new, European-influenced restaurant Dolly as well as the lobby cafe-slash-wine bar, Intermission.
It makes for a deluxe spot in the CBD to experience an unforgettable weekend of discovery in Melbourne. We’re giving you and a friend the chance to do just that, with a competition to win a two-night stay at the hotel – food and drinks included.

You and a friend will arrive with valet parking, ahead of your check-in to a Suite at Le Meridien with showstopping views over Melbourne. Enjoy a cocktail each at Dolly, before moving on to a four-course dining experience with matched wines, showcasing some of the region’s best drops.
From there your options are as complex as balancing shared petit plates and a bottle of Yeringberg rosé in the Intermission Cafe and Bar, with waking each morning to a daily buffet breakfast with barista Axil coffee.
All rooms and suites in the plush hotel take design cues from mid-century Melbourne. Dark timber furnishings offer a warm, cosy atmosphere alongside artworks and a selection of architecture and travel books. Marble bathrooms are stocked with Malin & Goetz bath products right next to the rainshowers, and the suites have turntables and vinyl by artists who performed at the site over the years.
This competition is open to all Australians over the age of 18. Interstate winners will receive a $500 flight voucher supplied by Broadsheet to put toward their travel. All up the competition package is valued at $3718. The competition closes at 9:00am on Monday 10 July, 2023. Terms and conditions apply.
