As it was for many, Chinese takeaway was a defining culinary feature of chef Matti Fallon’s formative years – it shaped his ideas around flavour and cooking style.

Now the man behind Melbourne’s Princes Pies is bringing a contemporary spin on the cuisine to Saint Crispin.

In this video, we meet the chef at the helm of the newest Broadsheet Kitchen concept as he makes lunch with him mum using ingredients plucked fresh from his parents’ garden – which also supplies the herbs Fallon uses in the pies on his shop’s menu.
