Australians will soon be able to try pretzel-flavoured M&M’s, with colourful cases, milk-chocolate layers and crunchy pretzel centres. None of that pretzel-y twist though.

The salty-sweet M&M’s, which are already available in the US, are being released here for World Chocolate Day, a totally unnecessary, but still welcome annual excuse to eat chocolate.

They’ll be made in Victoria at the 40-year-old Mars Wrigley chocolate factory in Ballarat.

The factory exports its products – including Maltesers, Milky Ways and Pods – to more than 17 countries worldwide.

Find them at Coles from July 13 and Woolworths from July 28.
