Three top Australian gin makers – Adelaide Hills Distillery, Sydney’s Archie Rose and Melbourne Gin Company – have collaborated with Australian chocolate royalty Haigh’s to create a trio of gin-infused chocolates. (Truly the chocolate we need in these times.)
Each distillery has worked with Australia’s oldest family-owned chocolate-maker to create a flavour that incorporates its signature botanicals, which you can buy individually or in an elegant navy box (containing 12 squares of chocolate) called “The Collaboration”.
Adelaide Hills’ Bitter Orange Aperitif Ganache pairs bitter citrus notes, honey, peach and mountain pepper with a milk chocolate coating and a white-chocolate ganache centre. The Melbourne Dry Gin Fudge squares offer a blend of local and international botanicals with classic milk chocolate fudge, plus juniper to represent a modern Aussie gin. Finally, the Archie Rose Signature Dry Gin Ganache combines peppermint gum, mountain pepper leaf, macadamia, and sandalwood nuts with dark chocolate.
The Collaboration box includes 12 chocolates (four of each) for $49.90, and you can also buy 125-gram packets of each chocolate for $28. They’re available at all Haigh’s stores (except for Victoria) and online. You can also buy some of the chocolates individually in-store.
