There is a new range of ready-to-drink spritzes made with locally crafted spirits and ingredients thanks to a Melbourne-based collective.
Home Grown is a brand of bottled cocktails created by the Worksmith team, the hospitality-focused community hub behind Melbourne Cocktail Festival. There are just three premixed drinks – a Ginger & Mango Spritz made with Anther gin, a Creamy Soda Highball made with Ned whisky, and a Strawberry & River Mint Spritz made with Grainshaker rye vodka.
Each 750-millilitre bottle costs $45, or you can buy a party pack of all three flavours for $120. You can even order a 20-litre keg.
Co-founder Michael Bascetta (Falco, Capitano, Bar Liberty and Worksmith) says the team was inspired to create large-format ready-to-drink cocktails after noticing a lack of similar Australian-made products on the market.
Home Grown’s first batch of cocktails was created in collaboration with Side Hustle, a creative agency made up of bartenders from Fancy Free – Rob Libecans, Matt Stirling, Ryan Noreiks and Nick Edwards. Each drink is designed to crack open and serve over ice with a fresh garnish, if you’re feeling fancy.
Home Grown cocktails are available at the brand’s online shop, as well as at Melbourne’s Meatsmith, The Alps, Diggin’ in the Cellars, Le Pont, Co-Lab Pantry and others.
