While decorations may have gone up around the city in late October, we’re now entering the holiday season for real. Instead of settling on a gift voucher for that person you can never buy for, how about a cheese advent calendar full of the fancy French stuff?
The 12 Days of Cheese box is the first venture by sisters Maria Crews and Angela Ceberano, who’ve spent most of their careers in branding and PR.
Each box contains 12 French cheeses, and covers a broad flavor and texture spectrum from hard to soft, blue to white to yellow – and a couple that’re almost liquid. It might include gems such as a washed-rind Le Dauphin Soumaintrain (a Burgundian classic), or Brique D'Affinois, a soft cow’s milk cheese from the Rhone Alps. All levels of fromage fussiness are catered to.
When your box arrives, you’ll find around 20 grams of each variety, cut and packaged to order, along with tasting notes.
A box will set you back $196.50 ($236.15 after you factor in taxes and shipping), so maybe save this one for somebody special. Or yourself.
