Gelato Messina returns this festive season with its seasonal creation, again (and aptly) named The Christmas Coma.

This year, the decadent dessert – which can feed 18 to 20 people – has been ramped up. It features layers of house-made chocolate gelato, sour cherry jelly, dulce de leche mousse, red velvet cake, vanilla Chantilly cream, lime gel, chocolate-covered biscuit crumbs and Italian meringue.

Doubling down on the intensity, it comes with a bag of chocolate-coated nuts and one litre of brandy custard.

The Christmas Coma will be available to customers on Messina's VIP Christmas list on Wednesday November 14. It’ll set you back a cool $150.
