Adelaide Hills gin-crafter Applewood Distillery is just one of scores of alcohol providers sending booze across the country to help us get our fix while in lockdown. Now, it’s doing us another solid by giving away free pre-batched 200-millilitre “Qurantinis” to the first 1000 people who sign up to its mailing list before April 15.
The free Martinis will be delivered to recipients’ doors for a flat fee of $10 each. But even if you miss out on one of the freebies, Applewood and its sister winery Unico Zelo are both doing plenty to keep you sane during social distancing. Each night, Applewood is hosting Iso-Cocktails, a Facebook live session with cocktail masterclasses, amaro explainers and tiki cocktail-making. Unico Zelo is doing the same, with a focus on wine-themed topics – expect reviews of “shit wine inventions”, blind-guessing wines and general vino chat. The live streams are basically a replacement for pub happy hours you’re no longer able to get to.
Both Applewood and Unico Zelo have also put together booze packages to get you through isolation. Applewood’s has three 500-millilitre bottles of gin, while Unico Zelo has put together a mixed dozen “Iso-Vino Care Package” that can be delivered straight to your door to get you through these trying times.
Sign up to Applewood’s mailing list here before April 15 for a chance to win a free Quarantini.
