Luke Sales, Romance Was Born

1. Your Resort collection vibe in three words?
Del Kathryn Barton.

2. Favourite freeze-frame moment at MBFWA?
Hearing the first few bars of the music as the show starts … it’s that moment when time stands still and always something I remember from each show.

3. Best watering hole for a post-show debrief?
We had a raging after-party at the QT Hotel in the city, they set up a retrospective of some of our past collections which was really cool. I’m not sure we got to debrief much though. More so, we let off some steam.

4. Local dream girl? (Who you would die to see in your brand.)
Any girl who has made a connection with our clothes is truly special for us.

5. Which other designer's show were you most impressed by?
Well, we didn’t get to go to any shows as we closed Fashion Week this year. We always work, work, work up until it’s time to go on. From what I saw KitX looked amazing!

6. Tell me the next trend, seen at MBFWA, that every "it" girl will be wearing?
  Fairy dresses!

Kit Willow, Kit X

Seeing the entire collection come together for the first time at fittings.

My balcony at home, looking over the trees with a chilled glass of rosé!

4. Local dream girl? (Who you would die to see in your brand.)
Alys Hale.

5. Which other designer's show were you most impressed by?
Romance Was Born.

Michael Lo Sordo

1. Your collection vibe in three words?
  Sultry, strong and beautiful.

2. Best watering hole for a post show debrief?
Bloodwood in Newtown. The Bloodwood Spritzers are the best!

3. Which other designer's show were you most impressed by?
Albus Lumen and Christopher Esber were both incredible standout shows for me. Both really representing what they do best.

4. Tell me the next trend, seen at MBFWA, that every “it” girl will be wearing?
Everything Michael Lo Sordo, of course. Lace bodysuits layered with men’s tailoring, silk dresses layered with blood-red stockings. Red is the new black.

5. Local dream girl? (Who you would die to see in your brand.)
My muse and inspiration for all my collections is my dear friend and Australian model Alexandra Agoston. Everything about her I just die for.

*6. Favourite freeze-frame moment of the week? *
The minutes before the show! It was so calm then it went into overdrive in the space of nano seconds.

Beth and Tess MacGraw, Macgraw

1. Your collection vibe in three words?
Brit, love, aristocrat.

2. Best watering hole for a post-show debrief?
Star Bar, as it’s the closest.

3. Which other designer's show were you most impressed with?
Romance Was Born.

4. Local dream girl? (Who you would die to see in your brand.)
Lorde. Have we adopted her yet?

Mismatched shoes.

Bec Cooper and Bridget Yorston, Bec & Bridge

1. Your collection vibe in three words?
Playful, sculptural, bold.

2. Favourite freeze-frame moment of the week?
The feeling when you are backstage and everything is about go down. It's such a nostalgic feeling when all the models are dressed and ready to walk out onto the runway, good vibes.

3. Best watering hole for a post-show debrief?
Can’t go past Fred’s for a post-show bite and little sneaky cocktail.

4. Local dream girl? (Who you would die to see in your brand.)
We are already so lucky to have dressed our local dream girls, some of these include Tanja G, Mimi Elashiry, Georgia Fowler, Sarah Ellen ...

5. Which other designer's show were you most impressed by?
We will be honest, we have not checked out any shows as we have been in B and B world all week. However, we are looking forward to checking out all of the new gen shows online and seeing what the emerging talent is producing. We have so many incredibly talented established designers here in Australia so, for us, it's just as exciting to watch the younger generation come through.

6. Tell me the next trend, seen at MBFWA, that every "it" girl will be wearing?
We are all about the ruffles for Resort 18 and bringing back the mini lengths. The mini is back baby. Actually, did it ever leave?
