Australian womenswear label Zimmermann, known for its runway-inspired swimwear and bohemian holiday wear, has launched its first menswear capsule to coincide with the opening of its new store in Saint-Tropez, France.
“I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve been asked if we would ever design menswear, or maybe do some men’s swimwear,” said creative director Nicky Zimmermann in an official statement. “Growing up and living by the beach, the idea of creating something different with men’s boardshorts has always sounded like something fun to work on.”
Zimmermann is offering men’s boardshorts on its website in two classic cuts – the Boardie (which hovers just above the knee) and the Shortie (mid-thigh length). At $195, the shorts come in four charming colourways – burgundy, gold, navy and olive – and each pair has nifty hip pockets and an elasticated waist, to ensure they’re super comfortable. A leafy Batik graphic motif has been printed onto the lightweight, fast-drying poly-elastane fabric.
The Zimmermann’s first men’s capsule is available exclusively online at zimmermannwear.com.
