Once again, the revitalised Oroton has come up with a look that is absolutely its own. The Optimist collection for spring-summer 2021 marries the lightness of linen and silk with a painterly palette of colours to come up with a double dose of feel-better. And you could win $2000 worth of it.

Oroton’s creative director, Sophie Holt, says she had been considering our collective need for escapism. The collection’s remedy starts with colour: bright shades of mango, smoke blue and lemon zest, to offset the more neutral bases of eggshell cream and cognac as well as some garden florals to break up the colour blocks.

Then there are the classic cuts with room to breathe. Try a relaxed double-breasted blazer in cognac or pink sand, tailored from an Italian weave viscose-cotton blend fabric and structured with sharp wide peak lapels, front jet pockets and tonal horn buttons. Match it with double-pleated suit pants and sling a Cole day bag with statement silver buckle over your shoulder and you’re good to go.

The shift shirt dress in almond-milk stripes works hard for the money, giving you two completely different looks depending on whether or not you belt it – either loose and light, or cinched in for a tidy silhouette. It’s even got hidden pockets.

Our favourite of the collection? The marble-print blouse with generous, 1970s-style sleeve cuffs and a neck-tie scarf. The dusty-peach and smoke-blue marble pattern is versatile enough to carry the blouse through from smart day wear to silky evening wear.

This competition is now closed. Congratulations to our winner Lisa Y.
