If you’ve been following Troye Sivan’s Instagram lately, you might have noticed a series of fleeting, intimate vignettes – close encounters between friends and lovers from an observer’s perspective. The posts left fans guessing, until Tsu Lange Yor revealed its latest fragrance, By Your Side, and the pieces fell into place.
The label’s fifth scent, which Sivan wore to the Grammys, is a collaboration between him, his brother and co-founder Steele Mellet, and master perfumer Frank Voelkl – the nose behind Le Labo’s cult Santal 33. The result? A warm, lingering fragrance designed to be shared with a lover, friend or partner.
To mark the launch, Tsu Lange Yor is hosting a four-day photo exhibition at Hillvale Gallery in Melbourne over Valentine’s Day weekend. It’s a chance to view the campaign imagery in a gallery setting, sample the scent, and step into a pop-up photobooth to capture your own quiet moment.
Who: Tsu Lange Yor
What: By Your Side eau de parfum
When: Anytime, anywhere – with your lover or close companion
Where: Spritzed onto pulse points and clothes to leave a lingering scent of lust
Why: “I wanted to create a fragrance to wear with someone, and for it to have an intoxicating effect, like a new love. It had to be strong and linger on their clothes, so the next time they put them on, it would recall the memories of the time we spent together,” Sivan shared in a statement.
How: A magnetic mix of pink pepper and cardamom gives way to frankincense smoke, labdanum and soft leather, settling into a base of cedarwood that stays close to the skin.
You can buy it online now at tsu-lange-yor.au, but if you want to experience it first, it’s available in-store at Mecca from February 25.
