In the year 2014, Taylor Swift released 1989, Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin “consciously uncoupled” – and Glossier was launched.
The follow-on product line from community-powered beauty website Into the Gloss, Glossier would go on to become a globally famous go-to for fans of natural-looking make-up and a less-is-more approach.
Products such as its Boy Brow, Stretch Balm Concealer, Cloud Paint and Balm Dotcom hit virality far before Tiktok marketing existed – and today the line has expanded to include over 50 products, spanning make-up, skincare, fragrance and accessories.
Even though any beauty buff worth their serum knows of Glossier (pronounced “gloss-ee-aye”), in the Antipodes we’ve had to do all kinds of logistical gymnastics to get our hands on its pink bubble-wrap-style pouches because they’ve never shipped here directly. A friend travelling to the US or UK? Glossier mule. It’s also been possible to use mail forwarding services.
But it’s just become much easier to get your top-up of Milky Jelly Cleanser, Glossier You perfume or Lash Slick mascara.
Glossier now ships worldwide – including directly to Australia and New Zealand.
In Australia, standard courier shipping is from AU$16, or free for orders over $110. For New Zealand, it’s NZ$18, or free for orders over $120.
If you’re already a fan of the brand, you’ll no doubt have your favourites – but if its newfound accessibility has finally convinced you to place your first order, we can recommend everything mentioned above.
Here’s to a summer of Glossier glow.
