The author, podcaster and influencer shares what she loves most about life on the Gold Coast with her daughter, Minnie, and their kelpie. In partnership with Ena Pelly, she also tells us about working on her new collection and her favourite pieces.

Ellidy Pullin is a remarkable woman. In 2024 alone, the Gold Coast-based model, influencer, podcaster and author graced the digital cover of Cosmopolitan Australia, collaborated with some of her favourite local fashion and lifestyle brands, and hit milestones with her podcast Darling, Shine!, where she and friend Chloe Fisher unpack the raw – and often unspoken – experiences of womanhood, grief and friendship.

But it’s not just Pullin’s career achievements that keep her 350,000-plus social media followers reeled in. The Heartstrong author is known for her vibrant personality, sunny smile and all-round positivity that’s present in almost everything she does – whether it’s surfing at Palm Beach, sharing snippets of her personal style, or shooting with fashion labels.

Locals might catch the Covergirl brand ambassador taking her daughter Minnie to feed the birds at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, grabbing a coffee from Good Day in Tugen, or enjoying a bite from Hanks or Costa Taco in Palm Beach.

Pullin attributes her contentment to the Gold Coast lifestyle.

“You kind of just feel like you’re on holiday every day up here,” she tells Broadsheet.

But Pullin’s life hasn’t always been idyllic, and she’s no stranger to heartache. In 2020, at just 28 years old, she lost her partner – Olympian and world snowboarding champion Alex “Chumpy” Pullin – in a spearfishing accident. The couple had lived together for eight years with their kelpie, Rumi, and were trying for their first baby.

In the year that followed, her life changed dramatically. While in the throes of navigating grief and life after Chumpy’s death, she also began her IVF journey with posthumous sperm retrieval, and experienced a heart-wrenching miscarriage. But she came out the other side with the healthy baby girl the couple had always wanted: Minnie Alex Pullin, now three years old.

It’s no surprise so many are drawn to Pullin, given her candour in speaking and writing about the hardships she has faced, and her drive to help fellow women dealing with the loss of a partner, or fertility issues.

And her success is ongoing. The 32-year-old has exciting projects in the works – and she’s kicking off 2025 by collaborating with Australian fashion label Ena Pelly. The collection reflects her love of fashion and streetwear, and embodies her bold and fun-loving personality.

“It’s a brand I’ve loved forever,” Pullin says. “I just love the casual but elevated style – I’m such a chiller in the way that I dress. I obviously want to look fashionable, but also comfy, so when Dani Pelly contacted me I nearly fell over … it’s just so on-brand for me.”

The local label, founded 10 years ago by fashion designer Danielle Pelly and her husband Tim Wilkins, encapsulates the relaxed lifestyle Pullin has created for herself, while still making a statement. Its pieces are effortless yet bold, with vibrant colourways and flattering silhouettes.

They’ve collaborated on a new collection, Ena Pelly x Ellidy Pullin, with a focus on graphic tees, racer jerseys, novelty denim and pops of washed lime. Pullin says the idea was to create a line which women could wear while running errands or grabbing a coffee, but which could also be transformed into an elevated outfit for dinner with the girls.

One of the podcaster’s favourite pieces is the Minnie mesh jersey – a sky blue, oversized tee with Pullin and the brand’s shared initials, EP. And it comes in a matching unisex mini version, too.

“To do some mini mum-and-bub [items] was just a extra bonus because I could incorporate Minnie into the shoot, and I knew mums would love it,” she says.

Another unexpected favourite was the washed lime denim jacket, and the matching denim miniskirt. Pullin was unsure about the colour at first, but changed her mind after trying it on at the photoshoot, now describing the outfit as the “best colour” on her.

“Designing makes you push the boundaries and kind of gets you out of your comfort zone,” she adds. “It was a really fun process.”

For the brand, which often collaborates with influential Australians, the partnership reflects the Ellidy’s vibrant energy while also bringing to life its own signature style.
