We all love a good deal. But I can’t be alone in the promotional overwhelm that hits over sales periods. It’s all a battle of the highest per cent sign – and it can really blur the lines between temptation and intention when it comes to how you spend your money.
While keeping a list can help you practice mindful consumption (without having to miss out on a better price), I’m guessing you’ve already tried that.
I asked around the office and, it turns out, it’s not just me with a camera roll of lost screenshots, a Chrome browser full of “bookmarked” tabs and a Notes app with entries I’ll “return to later”, as an attempt to track my wants and desires. And while it’s clear that we’re trying, I think we can all agree that there must be a more effective way.
This is where I suggest Carted. Now I get it, the last time someone gave you an app recommendation like this, it was probably five to 10 years ago. But I’ve been using this handy shopping tool for a few months now and I’m really vibing it, so please appease me.
As a centralised place for busy minds to organise thoughts across gifting, holidays, home updates and more, Carted might be the silent hero of the spending world. These are the three things I like the most.
The organisation
Carted works by adding things directly from your browser and assigning it to a list (efficiency, we love). You can choose categories like homewares, dresses and skincare, but also things like event, season, colour, brand, room – or anything you want. It’s also a great way to start your gift shopping ahead of time.
The alerts
Carted tracks price drops on your wishlist and will alert you when items are discounted. There are also alerts for when pieces return to stock (currently me with this St Agni bag), so you don’t have to obsessively keep checking what’s up.
The savings
There are savings to be made from your price drop alerts, but also savings from retailer comparisons. Ever noticed that some shops charge more than others for the same item? You can compare the price of the same product across different retailers all in the one app – and avoid spending more than you need to.
That’s my round-up of the app’s most favoured perks, but there’s more on Carted’s benefits via its website.
