Instagram sensation @the.king.of.mortadella is undoubtedly the most dressed-up (and cherubic) fan of the large cured pork sausage. But you can show your love for the Italian cold meat without donning a pink polka-dot chef’s apron; Aussie workwear and uniform label Worktones has the next best thing.

In 2020 it released a line of baseball caps that simply say “mortadella”, and the stylish headgear is now back in stock.

The olive green caps are 100 per cent cotton with stitched air holes and an adjustable back slider – great for a day out in the sun, running errands, chilling with friends or planning your next antipasto platter (actual mortadella not included).

Worktones also has caps that spell out “chardonnay”, “skin contact” and “Allora!” as well as some dedicated to sanga specialist Lox in a Box and pizzeria Bella Brutta (both in Sydney). There are also tees, tote bags and hoodies, plus this pasta and Aperol-focused collab with artist Lauren Martin. The core products are a range of aprons for adults, and these adorable ones for kids featuring illustrations of top Aussie dishes by Good Food Crap Drawings.

The brand specialises in uniforms for hospitality, but also has its own range of retail workwear that’s functional and classic.
