Beauty Spot: Aesop Adds an SPF50 Face Lotion to Its Range

Aesop needs no introduction. One of the original A-beauty brands, we’ve long been in love with its signature scents and chic packaging. And now the Melbourne-born label is adding a summer staple to its line-up: Protective Facial Lotion SPF50.

When: Daily or as required, twenty minutes prior to sun exposure. It’s recommended to reapply sunscreen every two hours and after perspiring, swimming or towelling dry.
Where: Face and neck.
Why: The brand already carries an SPF25 face lotion, as well as an SPF50 zinc-based product and SPF30 lip balm. The new hydration-focused product offers broad-spectrum UVA and UVB protection and is suitable for most skin types, particularly dry skin. It absorbs into the skin quickly and is subtly scented by sage and lavender oils.
How: This fluid formula lists niacinamide in its ingredients, which is claimed to help improve the skin’s tone and texture. Meanwhiel, saccharide isomerate, a natural humectant, helps maintain the skin’s natural moisture barrier.
