The magic number is most definitely 22 for travel company Webjet. From 10am on Tuesday August 25 to 8am on August 26, it's offering 22 per cent off selected hotels in 22 popular Aussie destinations. The sale is in celebration of its 22nd birthday.
While coronavirus means travel restrictions are in place for many states, some borders remain closed and Victorians are in lockdown, the sale includes travel anytime between August 25 at June 30, 2021, meaning you could plan for the future (or even use it for research).
Hotel deals are for Broome and Margaret River in Western Australia; South Australia's Barossa Valley, Adelaide Hills, Clare Valley and Kangaroo Island; and in NSW Byron Bay, Hunter Valley and the Blue Mountains. In Queensland there are accommodation deals for the Whitsundays, Hamilton Island, Fraser Island, Sunshine Coast and Cairns; in the Northern Territory it's for Darwin, Kakadu and Alice Springs; and in Tasmania there are deals for Hobart, Bruny Island and Cradle Mountain. Victoria accommodation deals include the Great Ocean Road, Daylesford and Mornington Peninsula.
To give you an idea of the saving, if you stayed at the Fairmont Resort and Spa in the Blue Mountains from Friday January 15 to Friday 22, you'd save more than $400 for a room for two adults and two children (a rate reduced from $1908 to $1488).
