Urban Wine Walk Returns to Melbourne and Sydney
Sat Jul 19, 2025 – Sat Aug 30, 2025
Various locations
Price: $82
Book NowUrban Wine Walk is back with a new series of wine-tasting trails across Melbourne and Sydney. That’s four perfect excuses to get out and explore your city’s hidden gems and old favourites, one sip at a time.
The self-guided format is the perfect way to enjoy an afternoon of wine-tasting at your own pace, sampling wines from some of the country’s most interesting producers along the way. You’ll encounter the makers as you go, while sipping on exciting drops and discovering places you may never have set foot in otherwise.
Melbourne
On Saturday July 19, Melbourne participants can head to Brunswick, stopping at Amelia Shaw for a taste of Yayoi Wines – a tiny surf coast label focusing on chenin blanc; the Hot Listed Bar Spontana, serving SA’s lo-fi Das Juice; Hotel Railway for Young Gun of Wine award winner Tillie J; and Welcome to Brunswick, where you’ll find drops by the family-run Circulus Wine.
The second Melbourne event, on Saturday August 16, takes place in the city’s laneways, with venues including Baby Driver (partnering with Box Grove, a specialist in Rhone varietals from Central Victoria), Champagne Problems (small-batch producer Alpha Box & Dice) and Magic Mountain Saloon (SA’s artisan Worlds Apart Wines).
Sydney
The Sydney tours also kick off on July 19, offering participants the chance to explore everything Manly has to offer – from Belgrave Cartel (pouring sustainability-focused Riverina winery Mino & Co) and Garfish (the small-batch Main & Cherry from Adelaide) through to Shore Beach Club (Hunter Valley’s Bonvilla Estate) and The Cumberland (chardonnay and pinot specialist Scarborough Wine Co).
The series concludes in Surry Hills on Saturday August 30, with punters venturing out to Forrester’s and other renowned local bars, from Eileen’s to Tilly May’s. Each will be hosting different Australian winemakers, including fun new outfits like Jessop from Orange and Dear Vincent from the Granite Belt, and boutique wineries like the Hunter Valley’s Allandale and Vinden.
There’s no bus, no schedule, and no guide – just a map, a tasting glass and a thirst for adventure required. Each event runs (or walks) from 12pm to 4pm, allowing you to set your own pace and path. Tickets to the Brunswick, Melbourne CBD, Manly and Surry Hills tours are available now. They include a tasting glass, access to all participating venues and a curated selection of wines – plus $10 to spend at your chosen starting location.
